freedom's value

I firmly believe that an individual's freedom is more important than his or her happiness and the stability of the society as a whole.  The reason for this is simple: what is the point in happiness if you don't have the freedom to do what makes YOU happy?  It's the same as success without failure, it is impossible, if you never fail, how can you expect to be successful?  You can't!  It is almost impossible!  success without failure is merely good luck, and everyone lucks out eventually!  *sigh* If you had the choice to be the happiest person on earth, but lose your freedom, I doubt you'd do it.  I say this because I know how most people work, having a pretty elaborate knowledge of human nature and the brain in general, and human's naturally want to be self sustained, but even in today's society, more people are becoming more and more reliant on others, becoming less and less self sufficient, which could lead to a dystopia similar to that which is depicted in the Huxley's novel, Brave New World.  Would millions of people have voluntarilly given their lives defending and upholding the values of a nation such as america if we did not want freedom so badly?!?  NO, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE!!!  I can confidently say this given the above paragraph, but I'm almost certain that if it came down to it, the human race would be reduced to only a few headstrong fools determined to destroy a race of beings like no others before we could be enslaved and made to be happy without freedom.

Bull Life

ALL ABOUT BERNIE

It all started on March 10, 1995, when I was Born just minutes after my grandfather's birthday.  I live with my parents and sister and live two houses down from my grandmother.  I work at a small welding shop, Ray's Welding, owned by my uncle, and I weld and landscape for a living.  My hobbies include welding, landscaping, cars, construction, and basically anything having to do with using my hands and getting dirty.  I grew up military raised, don't speak lest spoken to, which is why I'm as quiet as I am.  I have attended John S. Clark Elementary School in Waukegan Illinois for kindergarden through half of my 5th grade year, which is when I transferred to Our Lady of Humility, where I went for the remainder of 5th grade and all of middle school, and now I'm at SJCA, finishing up my senior year.  I plan to go to UTI for Automotive training, since my "natural high" is working with engines.  I've been working with computers and the internet since I was about 5 years old, and because of that, I have three email accounts, all of which I check on an hourly basis.  You can contact me at any of the following email addresses:
